Jewish genealogical resources & how I’m spending my Sunday

(Un)fortunately, I get to spend 4 (well, closer to 6 when you count the fact that I drive about 40 minutes each way) hours at a small Jewish library in Dallas for my internship every Sunday until the end of term. I’ve pretty much decided that at the end of the semester I will find another internship, one closer to home/work/school. My assignment for today: finding resources on Jewish genealogy (particularly in Texas)! The library itself has only 3 texts on Jewish genealogy (general information) and 1 on Dallas Jews. I don’t really have much else to go on, so I’m off to Google.

Hopefully once I get home, and after I pick up the house a bit, I can sit down with some awesome Old English and get to translating. I need to read more on the grammar a bit so this glossing doesn’t trip me up, but it’s pretty interesting stuff none-the-less.

I’m so tempted to put in an application to my school’s linguistics program.
