This is a tumblelog, kinda like a blog but with short-form, mixed-media posts with stuff I like. Scroll down a bit to start reading, or a bit more to read more about me.

Every part of me wants to live or work in this building. It’s so beautiful.
My mother is coming to my house for the first time since I moved in August. I have a GIGANTIC list of things to do before she shows up on Saturday. I’m hoping by doing a little at a time I will not be too stressed out over it. Tonight I will start with laundry and picking up the living room. I have such a tiny house, so anything out of place makes the entire room look a mess.
And at some point I need to put lights up outside so I can throw a dinner party in my GIGANTIC backyard. Lots to doooo
(Un)fortunately, I get to spend 4 (well, closer to 6 when you count the fact that I drive about 40 minutes each way) hours at a small Jewish library in Dallas for my internship every Sunday until the end of term. I’ve pretty much decided that at the end of the semester I will find another internship, one closer to home/work/school. My assignment for today: finding resources on Jewish genealogy (particularly in Texas)! The library itself has only 3 texts on Jewish genealogy (general information) and 1 on Dallas Jews. I don’t really have much else to go on, so I’m off to Google.
Hopefully once I get home, and after I pick up the house a bit, I can sit down with some awesome Old English and get to translating. I need to read more on the grammar a bit so this glossing doesn’t trip me up, but it’s pretty interesting stuff none-the-less.
I’m so tempted to put in an application to my school’s linguistics program.
I should post more often.
So, while doing this library science degree is fun (/sarcasm), I’m enjoying learning about other languages instead. This stems from my linguistics undergrad degree that I probably should have gone into for my MA. A friend of mine is in the process of teaching me French and Arabic, which is just a lot of fun. I rather enjoy a good nasal and the French “r”. I also rather like writing Arabic because it’s so swirly.
Oh, but I’m working on a cool project for my internship! I’m putting together an annotated bibliography about the genealogy of Jews in Texas (I intern at a Jewish library in Dallas). I find it interesting, anyway, but that because I like research.
